Announcements

Please note!  Our previously published date for MiddleMoot was incorrect, the correct date will be October 26, 2024.  Also, Elizabeth's library talk, which was cancelled due to the weather, has been rescheduled!  Details below.

The Next Meeting of the Tolkien Society: Wednesday, February 28, 6:30 PM

We'll be meeting at our usual location, ReRoll Tavern.  We'll be discussing the book Beren and Luthien.  The book explores the evolution of Tolkien's many versions of the story of these two characters, one of the central tales of the legendarium.

Rescheduled!  Library Talk: Monday, March 25, 6:00 PM

Elizabeth Perico of The Tolkien Society of Kansas City will be giving a library talk on Monday, March 25 at 6pm, at the South Branch of the Kansas City Kansas Public Library. The title of the talk is "Celebrating the Life of J.R.R. Tolkien".  Signup is not required, but helpful for planning at the library.

Middlemoot Date change!

Our previous date didn't work out with Signum University's schedule, so the new date is Saturday, October 26, 2024.  We're tentatively planning to hold the event at the Plaza Branch of the KCMO Public Library.

More details will be coming soon!

Online meetings

In addition to our meetings at ReRoll, we're looking into having some online Hobbit Happy Hour meetings, to give our remote members, and local members who can't make it to the IRL meetings, more chances to hang out.  Look for updates on this in our mailing list and Discord channel.

(if you'd like an invite to our Discord, please email tolkiensocietykc (at) gmail.com!)
